EPA Geospatial Data
Download files - To improve public health and the environment, the
EPA collects information about facilities or sites subject to
environmental regulation. The EPA Geospatial Data Access Project
provides a downloadable extensible markup language (XML) file, ArcGIS
Shapefile and Feature Class of these facilities or sites. Within the
file is key facility information, along with associated environmental
interests for use in mapping and reporting applications.
The EPA Geospatial Data Download files includes:
- Superfund
National Priorities List (NPL)
- RCRAInfo - Treatment, Storage,
Disposal facilities
- Toxic Release Inventory System - All reported
years
- NEPT - National Environmental Performance Track
- Permit
Compliance System (PCS) - National Pollutant Discharge Elimination
System (NPDES) Majors
- RCRAInfo - Large Quantity Generators (LQG)
- Air Facility System (AFS) - Major discharges of air pollutants
EPA Criteria Pollutant Shapefiles - Point data for each facility that releases the criteria pollutant to the environment. Data includes facility name, address, amount released, percent this facility's releases are of total national release and more. CO, NH3, NOX, PM10, PM2.5, SO2, VOC.
European
River and Catchment Database (CCM). CCM stands for Catchment
Characterisation and Modelling. CCM is an activity of the European

Communications Commission Mapping Resources.
GDAL - Geospatial Data Abstraction
Library is a translator library for raster geospatial data formats
that is released under an X/MIT style Open Source license by the Open
Source Geospatial Foundation. As a library, it presents a single
abstract data model to the calling application for all supported
formats. It also comes with a variety of useful commandline utilities
for data translation and processing. The NEWS page describes the October
2008 GDAL/OGR 1.5.3 release.
GEO-DATA Explorer (GEODE) - Access,
view, and download information from geo-spatial databases containing a
broad spectrum of data produced by the USGS and other government
agencies.
GeoGratis is a
portal provided by the Earth Sciences Sector (ESS) of Natural Resources
Canada (NRCan) which provides geospatial data at no cost via your Web
browser.
GEOnet Names Server (GNS) provides access to the
National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA) and the U.S. Board on
Geographic Names' (US BGN) database of foreign geographic feature names.

One-km Base Elevation (GLOBE) Project. The GLOBE Task Team was
established by the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites. It is part
of Focus I of the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme - Data and
Information System.
Global Land
One-kilometer Base Elevation (GLOBE) Documentation. This is the
first version of documentation for the Global Land One-kilometer Base
Elevation (GLOBE) data set. GLOBE is an internationally designed,
developed, and independently peer-reviewed global digital elevation
model (DEM), at a latitude-longitude grid spacing of 30 arc-seconds
(30"). This report describes the history of the GLOBE project, the
candidate data sets, data compilation techniques, organization, and use
of the data base. The data are available on CD-ROM and the World Wide
Web.
